This session aims to empower and provide the blueprint for educators to build a small group program that has shown to increase student’s resiliency, self-awareness, leadership, connectedness to the school and communication skills.

This session will be facilitated as primarily a Q&A session with the focus of working with Middle School adolescents. It is requested that students come with questions already prepared; however, the presentation will include the following general prompts to help guide the session:

  •  How do you approach work with clients/students at this developmental level?

  • What developmental/counseling theories/interventions do you utilize that seem to be a good fit in guiding your work with students/clients at this stage of development?

  • What are a few things you wish you had known at this stage in your development as a counselor - some words of wisdom - for students at the very beginning of their counseling program?
